Input

Photo mode uses Enhanced Input throughout. While it is open, it adds its mapping context with priority 1000 and an input component that blocks your game’s own bindings, so its keys never trigger game actions. Every action has Trigger when Paused on, so photo mode works while the game is paused.

With the profile’s Input Config empty, photo mode builds its default layout in code. See Controls for the keys.

  1. Copy the /TALensman/Input folder into your project, or create the assets from an Editor Utility or Python:

    import unreal
    unreal.TALensmanInputConfig.create_default_assets("/Game/Input/Lensman")

    This creates DA_Lensman_Input, IMC_Lensman and the 17 input actions. It does nothing if the assets already exist.

  2. Change the keys in IMC_Lensman.

  3. Set DA_Lensman_Input as the profile’s Input Config.

The button prompts read the keys from the mapping context, so they always match your changes.

The data asset DA_Lensman_Input (TALensman Input Config) holds the mapping context, its Priority (1000) and one property per action.

The open key is separate: it comes from the project settings (Add Open Key, Open Keys). See Opening photo mode.

Rows and values repeat while a key or D-pad direction is held. Photo mode does this itself: one step on press, then a repeat after a short delay.

Action First repeat after Then every
NavigateRows 0.4 s 0.12 s
Adjust 0.35 s 0.06 s

When you change the keys, leave Navigate Rows and Adjust without triggers; photo mode repeats them itself while the key is held.
