The panel

Open the panel from Tools > tridiART > ta Ferryman, or right-click in the Content Browser and choose ta Ferryman > Open ta Ferryman.

The header shows how other editors see this one: This editor: the device name, the project and the network port. Settings opens Editor Preferences > Plugins > ta Ferryman. The footer has the status line and links to the website, contact and this documentation.

Other editors that run Ferryman, on this machine and on your network. At the top, the current Content Browser selection: Selected: SM_Crate (with what it uses).

Each editor shows its project, its engine version and whether it is on this machine, paired or not paired yet, with the device name, address and a short key fingerprint.

  • Send sends the selection with everything it uses.
  • Link sends it and keeps it linked: every later save here sends it again. See Live links.

An editor with an older engine version is marked: textures, meshes and material instances are rebuilt there. See Older engine versions.

Recent parcels of this session, newest first: what was sent or received, to or from which editor, the number of packages and the size, and the state (Waiting for them, Waits for you, Moving, Landing, Landed, Delivered, Declined, Failed). Review opens an arrival that waits for you; Show selects the assets in the Content Browser.

  • Open parcel file… lands a .ferry file (you can also drag it into the Content Browser).
  • Save selection as parcel file… writes one .ferry file with everything the selection uses.
  • Also for older engines adds recipes to parcel files and dock parcels, so older engines can rebuild textures, static meshes and material instances.

A shared folder where machines leave parcels for each other: choose the folder, Put on dock the selection (optionally Lock with a code), and Take what others left. See Dock.

Assets linked with other editors, in both directions, with their state (live, paused, change waiting), the number of updates and the last one. Send now, Pause / Resume, and remove the link (the assets stay). See Live links.

Connection code for editors that don’t see each other. Receive with a code makes a code for this editor; Send with a code sends the selection with someone else’s code. See Connection codes.

For machines next to each other: Listen, pick a Speed, and Play the selected assets (as a ticket), the selected material instance, the selected actors’ placement or a short text. Run check tests which speeds work, and Heard lists what arrived. See Sound.
