Animatics

The Animatic page of the ta Draughtsman panel writes an animatic of the board. The Burn-in preview on the right shows a frame of the picked shot with the burn-ins you chose; press play to run through the shot.

Mode What it shows
Board The board panels only, timed like the shots. No level needed: the classic animatic. Shots without a panel get a title card.
Camera The master sequence played through the level viewport: a fast render, like a playblast. Run Build / Sync first.
Side by side Board on the left, camera on the right, in one frame (twice as wide).
Board over camera The camera view with the panel blended over it, at the Board opacity.
Option Values
Format MP4 (H.264 video) or PNG frames (numbered images in a folder, for editing software).
Size Board (the board’s resolution), 1080p, 720p or 540p.
Shots All shots, or Picked shot (only the shot picked on the Shots page).
Board opacity Panel opacity for Board over camera.
Burn-ins Shot number, Shot name, Timecode, Frame counter, Panel, Lens, Dialogue (as subtitles) and Title.
Text size Text height in pixels on a 1080 px high frame, scaled for other sizes.
Output A file (MP4) or a folder (PNG frames). Empty writes to Saved/Draughtsman/Animatics with an automatic name: the board, the mode (board, camera, side or blend) and the date and time, for example SB_Forest_camera_20261018_101500.mp4.

Press Export animatic. When it finishes, the output folder opens (see Settings), and Open folder shows the last animatic again. The page shows what was written: frames, size and format.

Burn-in text can use any character the font has, accents and Turkish included.

Camera animatics play the master sequence through the level viewport in game view, without the panel overlay.

  • Size the viewport like the frame for the sharpest result, and keep the editor in front while it renders.
  • At each cut, a few frames are rendered and thrown away so exposure and anti-aliasing settle (see Cut Warm Up Frames in Settings).
  • For final pixels, render the same master sequence with Movie Render Queue.
