Frames, stickers & logo

Frames, stickers and your logo are drawn into the photo itself (and into every frame of a clip), exactly as the player sees them on screen: stickers first, the frame on top, then the logo.

A frame is a texture with a transparent centre. Frames are nine-sliced: the corners and borders keep their shape and the rest stretches, so one texture works in every aspect ratio, from 9:16 to 2.39:1.

The default profile has eight frames:

Frame Description
Classic A thin cream border.
Polaroid White, with a wide bottom border where the logo sits.
Gallery mat A dark frame around a wide white mat.
Rounded Black, with rounded corners.
Comic A black border with a thin white line, like a comic panel.
Postcard A cream postcard border with a stamp and a postmark.
Vintage Dark, soft edges, like an old print.
Cinema bars Black bars at the top and bottom.

Add frames to the profile’s Frames:

Field Default Description
Display Name The name in the Border row.
Texture The frame, with transparency in the middle. Square textures work well.
Tint White
Margin 0 The part of the texture that must not stretch, as fractions of its width and height (left, top, right, bottom; 0 to 0.5). All zero stretches the whole texture.
Border Size 0.06 How thick the top border is on the photo, as a share of the photo’s height. The other sides keep the texture’s proportions.
Place Logo Off Moves the logo to the spot below while the frame is on.
Logo Center (0.5, 0.93) Where the logo goes, as a fraction of the photo.
Logo Height 0.07 The logo’s height as a share of the photo’s height.

For example, the Polaroid frame has a margin of 0.07 on three sides and 0.21 at the bottom, a border size of 0.045 and its logo spot at (0.5, 0.9325).

Set the texture’s compression to UserInterface2D and turn off mipmaps and streaming, as the shipped frames do, so the photo gets the sharp texture.

The default profile has sixty-one stickers in seven packs:

Pack Stickers
Classic (25) Heart, Star, Sparkle, Wow!, Crown, Lightning, Smiley, Heart eyes, Music, Flower, Arrow, Sunglasses, Paw, Camera, Film, Sun, Moon, Rainbow, Flame, Snowflake, Butterfly, Thought, GG, Pin, Thumbs up
Fantasy (6) Sword, Shield, Potion, Dragon, Treasure chest, Crystal
Sci-fi (6) Rocket, UFO, Robot, Planet, Alien, Astronaut
Nature (6) Maple leaf, Cherry blossom, Mushroom, Pine tree, Rain cloud, Wave
Celebrations (6) Pumpkin, Ghost, Gift, Party popper, Fireworks, Snowman
Bubbles & words (6) Speech bubble, Shout bubble, Zzz, ?!, Boom!, Epic!
Emotes (6) Laughing, Crying, Angry, Shocked, Wink, Skull

On the Stickers tab:

  • choose a pack in the Pack row (All lists every sticker); the Sticker grid shows the pack’s pictures;
  • pick one in the grid and press Add sticker, or click the picture where it should go;
  • drag it to move it, scroll over it to resize it, hold Shift and scroll to rotate it;
  • with a gamepad, choose Move sticker: the left stick moves it, the triggers resize it and the right stick turns it;
  • Size and Rotation set it exactly, Remove sticker and Remove all stickers clean up.

Up to twelve stickers can be placed (Max Placed Stickers). Stickers are not remembered between sessions.

Add stickers to the profile’s Stickers: a Display Name, a Texture with transparency, a Default Size, the height when placed as a share of the photo’s height (0.22 by default; the shipped stickers use 0.2), and a Pack, the group in the sticker picker (for example “Fantasy”). Stickers without a pack are only listed under All; profiles from 1.0.0, without packs, show no Pack row.

Set your game’s logo as the profile’s Logo, a texture with transparency. The Logo row on the Frame tab then switches it on and off; Logo On By Default turns it on when photo mode opens.

Setting Default Description
Logo Size 0.08 Height as a share of the photo’s height.
Logo Anchor (0.97, 0.95) Where the logo sits inside the photo: (0, 0) top left, (1, 1) bottom right, always fully inside.

When the current frame has Place Logo on, the frame decides where the logo goes (on the Polaroid it sits in the wide bottom border).

Aspect ratio Shape
Screen The whole screen.

2.39:1 Cinema Cinema widescreen.
3:2 Classic photo.

The photo is cropped to the shape; on screen, the area outside it is darkened. Change the list in the profile’s Aspect Ratios (a name and a ratio; 0 means the whole screen).

Rule of thirds, Golden ratio, Center, Diagonals and Grid (6 × 4) help line up the shot. Guides are only shown on screen, never in the photo.
